If I had to describe this recipe in one word it would be: gorgeous.

Just the name sounds fancy. Pear Cranberry Compote. Is it jelly? Oh, no. Is it jam? Certainly not. It’s compote.

And the beautiful dish that is turned out after very minimal work is like a work of art sitting on your table.

I made this recipe this year for Thanksgiving instead of the traditional cranberry sauce and it was a HUGE hit!

Since then, we have discovered all sorts of uses for this delicious spread:

• As jelly on toast

• As the filling for our Homemade Nutrigrain Bars

• A delicious mix-in to our Crockpot Yogurt

• Straight out of the jar on a spoon (I’m not kidding)
